My first blog post

So, this is it. My first blog post.

Or rather, my first blog post on this site. I guess I’ve written a couple thousand blogs at this point, but they were for other people. And, although the freedom of writing without a real purpose is nice, I feel a little lost for direction. Like, usually when I write, I write marketing copy for larger organizations. This time, I’m just, uh…

Well, I’m making my site look a bit more complete.

No other real motive.

As far as the accompanying image goes?

Well, it’s going to be a good year for snowboarding (or skiing) on Mt. Ashland. Pictured is my hearty breakfast from last week in the lodge. The fries were surprisingly good. And the beer, Johnny’s Toasted Coconut Chocolate Porter, paired perfectly with my Johnny Walker Red. Gotta pay respects to my old friend.

What to expect from this blog (in future posts)

I might as well explain what I’m doing here:

First, this is my semi-professional page. I offer limited copywriting, editing, and consulting services as a freelancer. However, as most of my friends know, I’m also employed full time (doing roughly the same thing). So, while I’m generally open to new work, I’m not really looking for it. Nahmean?

And although this is a semi-professional page, it’s also a semi-personal one. Most of the content I post in here will be similarly personal. I don’t need to sell myself, but I do need to express myself (even if there are no readers).

Future blogs will probably most center around various experiences, opinions, revelations, etc. Maybe I just need a place to write outside of Facebook and other limiting forms of social media. Maybe it’s just nice to write without a specific purpose, as I do with my clients. Or heck, maybe I’m just making up for missing the boat on LiveJournal.

Either way, expect some semi-regular content from me. But don’t expect too much.
